Dr Mark Levy's Wildlife Photo Gallery

Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) the only animal put together by a committee. That is how my family explain its funny looks. The males spend many days in the breeding season, rooted to a small area, which they pound with their hooves, waiting for a female to come and mate. We have tried and failed three times to see the great migration in east africa - our timing has always been out! Mashatu, 1999.
